Finsilva Oyj has committed 15 hectares of land in Southern Finland and 4 hectares of land in Northern Savonia for the voluntary METSO-programme, which promotes Forest Biodiversity through conservation.

Finsilva Oyj now has 32 properties in the programme and is looking to increase the number in the future. Both properties are rich in dead- and decaying wood which benefits multiple species in the forest ecosystem.

The METSO-programme prohibits commercial use of the forests, but everyman’s rights are not waived, meaning the conservation areas are available for recreational use such as hiking and berry-picking.

Finsilva Oyj is majority owned by Dasos funds.
