Estonia’s first high-rise wooden building is going up in Tallinn

The city government of Tallinn has issued a building permit for the construction of the Estonia’s first eco-friendly high-rise building made entirely of wooden structures. The ecological footprint of the cross-laminated timber structures of the new 8-floor office building is very small, and as a renewable raw material, wood is an excellent carbon sink.

Tallin has been nominated as the European Green Capital in 2023, and this building project supports well the ambitious development strategy of Tallin city addressing carbon neutrality, climate adaption, biodiversity, circular economy and sustainable energy.
